In this tutorial video I will demonstrate how to use all of the rout drawing tools available in CoachYouths Playbook Designer.

DRAWING STRAIGHT LINE ROUTES

Drawing routs with a single or even multiple straight line segments requires the use of our straight rout tool...

First you will select the player you wish to add the rout to, and then click the add rout button...

The add rout menu will appear...

Click the button labeled "add straight" and a straight line segment will be added to the player, if you need multiple segments you can click the button multiple times...

To adjust the straight line segments simply select the control point and move it as needed...

When you select a control point the rout menu will appear giving you the option to add additional segments, delete the current segment or open the rout's settings menu.

DRAWING CURVED LINE ROUTES

Drawing routs with a single or even multiple curved line segments requires the use of our curved rout tool...

First you will select the player you wish to add the rout to, and then click the add rout button...

The add rout menu will appear...

Click the button labeled "add curve" and a curved line segment will be added to the player, if you need multiple segments you can click the button multiple times...

To adjust the curved line segments simply select the control points and move them as needed... Notice a curved line segment has two control points versus the single control point of straight lines.

One control will allow you to move the end point of the rout segment while the other controls the "bend" of the line segment.

When you select the end control point the rout menu will appear giving you the option to add additional segments, delete the current segment or open the rout's settings menu.

USING PRESET ROUTES

Using preset routs is a great time saver if you need to draw up a commonly used rout, such as a post rout...

First you will select the player you wish to add the rout to, and then click the add rout button...

The add rout menu will appear... if the player has preset routs available there will be a button labled "add preset"..

Clicking the "add preset" button will activate the preset menu which will give you a list of available options, simply click the one you wish to add...

You can move the route control points of a preset rout just as you would any other, and you can change the styling just like any other rout as well.

DRAWING PRESNAP MOTION

You may add a "pre snap" motion rout to any offensive player that does not already have a rout drawing as pre snap motion routs must be drawn first, therefore you must remove existing routs if you wish to add pre snap routs.

First you will select the player you wish to add the rout to, and then click the add rout button...

The add rout menu will appear...

Click the button labeled "add motion" and a second menu will appear... this menu will give you the option to draw a straight motion segment or a curved motion segment.

A pre snap motion rout behaves the same as any other rout drawing, except that it cannot be drawn beyond the line of scrimmage.

You may draw any other routs after the pre snap motion.

DRAWING BLOCKING ROUTES

Another unique rout drawing available to offensive linemen is the block rout drawing.

On any offensive linemen that do not already have a rout you may add a block rout.

First you will select the player you wish to add the rout to, and then click the add rout button...

The add rout menu will appear..

Click the button labeled "add block" and a second menu will appear... this menu will give you the option to draw a straight blocking rout or a curved blocking rout..

A blocking rout behaves the same as any other rout drawing, using the same straight or curved line tools.

DRAWING ZONE OFFENSE ROUTES

A unique rout drawing available to offensive linemen is the zone pass block rout drawing.

On any offensive linemen that do not already have a rout you may add a zone blocking rout.

First you will select the player you wish to add the rout to, and then click the add rout button...

The add rout menu will appear..

Click the button labeled "add zone"... a zone rout drawing will be added to the player. This is a unique drawing tool and it has two control points, one on each corner.

You can drag these control points to change both... the length and the width of the rout drawing.

The right corner control can be clicked to access the rout menu.

DRAW ZONE DEFENSE ROUTE

The only defensive specific rout drawing tool is the defensive zone rout.

On any defensive player that does not already have a rout you may add a zone rout.

First you will select the player you wish to add the rout to, and then click the add rout button...

The add rout menu will appear..

Click the button labeled "add zone" and the zone rout will appear...

This special rout drawing tool has two control points... the first control point will control the end point of the rout and can be clicked on to display the rout menu. The second control point will control the size or radius of the zone.
